HELEN MYRA BATES Died peacefully at home in Toronto on Friday, December 4, 2020. Survived by her beloved and loving husband, Ronald William Bates and seven adoring children: Myra, John, Warren (Debbie), Martha, Sarah (Phil Lynn), Adam (Theresa), Henry (Jennifer); and four dear grandchildren; Arielle, Spencer and Alyssa Lynn, and Jordan Bates. Helen was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 8, 1926, raised and schooled in Oxford, Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University. She met Ronald on the ill-fated steamship Noronic, they were married in 1951, and began an idyllic life together that lasted for 70 years. Helen was an accomplished homemaker and provided warm and happy homes in Toronto and Brussels for her close-knit family. She also loved travelling the world with Ronald, but her main and constant interest was always in her beloved children. Private family arrangements.
